New Phone And True Blood

So I decided to upgrade my phone..... Which turned out to be an almost nightmare, though in reality netted me a new phone and a better plan for less money... Bell is such a corrupt and morally bankrupt company..... They overcharge for all their services, which are subpar at best... I had to threaten to cancel everything just to get my new phone as they had changed my corporate plan without telling me.....grrr.

Anyways, I got the blackberry torch, and its cool.. The touch screen keyboard takes some getting used to, but the phone is faster, better and has a bigger screen. Let's see if I still like it in a month!

Not sure how I felt about True Blood tonight... The story lines are getting more and more strange, and there are so many new characters... Hopefully the decision to branch out from the books isn't making this awesome show jump the shark....

Why did I?

I often wonder as of late why I do the work I do. I am a child and youth worker, but I extremely dislike children. Perhaps it is due to the settings I've worked, or my overall lack of child exposure outside of work. I love my friend's kids, but even then I'm sometimes not comfortable around them. I think a lot of it is due to my occupation, and that if I were to do something else or work in an environment that I feel more refreshed and dedicated in, I would have a different opinion. Any thoughts?

Working

I'm wondering if anyone else is in the same position as me. I used to love my job, because it was a great place to work, filled with great people and a sense of meaning. I still have the great people for the most part, but I don't feel that it is a great place anymore, or that there is a sense of meaning to the work. Maybe this is just a side effect or symptom of depression, because I know that I am feeling a little down lately, or if there really is a shift in the workplace. I think that it is a combination of the two, which only highlights how different rings are at this time.

Perhaps it's just me. Im coming up to three years in the position, which is the longest that I have remained in the same position. I think I'm one of those people who needs a regular job change to keep me interested and invested. Or maybe I'm making much out of nothing.....

Weeds

So I'm sitting here at work watching Weeds with a co-worker. I haven't seen much of it lately, other than season 6, which I now realize is not as good as the earlier seasons. Doug has the best lines in season 4, like "cock juggling thundercunt" and "cockamole on her faceadilla". I think that this needs to be my next re-watch......

Biscotti

I never used to like biscotti. It always tasted like a stale cookie to me, until about a year ago. All of a sudden, I love the stuff. What I don't love is paying for it. Thus, I decided to make my own. I looked online, and found an easy recipe, which is currently in progress in my kitchen. It's a super duper chocolate one (I prefer cranberry, etc) but for a first time it seemed easy. Cross your fingers!

A Long Time

I see that it's been a long time since I posted anything on here, and to be brutally honest, I forgot about this site until I posted a comment on a friend's blog, and I signed in with my google account. After commenting, I ended up here. I looked at my previous posts, and though I now view it all as laughable, I believe that there is some therapeutic validity to blogging. (FYI - I made it to year 8, and I am happy...... Since that post, I got permanent at my work, and have been to Florida and the Dominican lol).

I would like to get back into this, but I always feel that I don't have the time.... Yet I can play stupid Cityville for hours.... What would be more rewarding and a better use of my time?

Seven Year Itch

I am not sure what it is, but I have felt stagnant within my relationship for the last few months. I love my other half, and I would never ever cheat on him; but I find myself looking at other guys, and I have even checked out some of the chub/chaser sites. I would be a chub, just so all are aware. I don't even know why I am looking at these things. Maybe I am looking for some sort of lacking friendship. I really only have one gay friend, and we work such conflicting schedules that I hardly ever see him. I wonder if it is a predisposition that made me title this the 7 year itch, or if the phenomenon is actually true. My partner and I met 7 years ago this month, and we "celebrate" our 7 year anniversary at the end of May.

Maybe we need to go away. Both of us are saying that we need a vacation; but I get no paid time off, and he's hit a slump at work, and is not making a lot right now. It always seems to be the way, but you know, it just might be worth the ding on the VISA for a bit.

Also, I have been having a hard time sleeping lately. I need to take something just to fall asleep. I am starting to think that since I turned 30, caffeine actually does something to/for me now. Hard to say really; it could be the shift work I do, the things that are on my mind all the time lately (7 year itch, wanting to change my life, etc).

Speaking of, it is really late and I start days on Monday, so I am cutting this short.
